Present Status

Earlier MMRDA has declared its Intention to prepare Town Planning Scheme for an area of 906 Ha. on 15th January, 2019 and completed Aerial Drone Survey between 15th March, 2019 to 22nd March, 2020 for the entire Growth Centre area. After formulating draft Town Planning Scheme the same was supposed to be submitted to Government for its sanction. However, for completing all necessary statutory procedure for preparation of draft TPS, a considerable time was required. Hence, MMRDA then requested Government of Maharashtra for extension to prepare and publish TPS.

In the meanwhile, the government of Maharashtra by its letter dated 19th August, 2020 has directed MMRDA to continue its function as ‘Special Planning Authority’ for granting of development work and permissions and other statutory functions in the Kalyan Growth Centre area till further directions from the government. Accordingly MMRDA is now granting the development permissions on the lands in the Growth Centre area at Kalyan as per the Sanctioned Development Plan (DP) of 27 villages notified area from Kalyan and Ambernath talukas in Thane district and as per the provisions of Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations for Maharashtra State (UDCPR).
